Healthy Hair

Having healthy hair make look good and everybody knows that a "bad hair day" sure can ruin your entire day. Here are some ways you can maintain a healthy looking head of hair:

1.) Damage control.
This is by far the most important part of keeping your hair healthy. In order to get the perfect style we want out hair to be, we blow-dry, straighten or curl are hair using heat. Excessive heat damages your hair. It dries it out and creates split-ends which are bad news for your hair if not treated. You should use heat-protection products such as stay-in conditioners or sprays that are made specifically to protect your hair from heat damage. Just put a little in before you blow-dry, straighten or curl your hair. For split end control make sure you get your hair trimmed every so often to take off the split ends. There are also specific shampoos, conditioners and sprays that target split ends.

2.) Don't tear your hair.
Treat your hair kindly. This is not the 80's so try to stray away from teasing your hair because that also damages it. When your hair does get in knots try not to force the brush through your hair. Instead take small sections at a time and gently comb through them. De-tangler spray is also a great help for huge knots.

3.) Don't over wash it.
We all want to have freshly clean hair everyday for work or school but that may not be the best thing for your hair. Your hair needs to keep some if its natural oils in order to be healthy. If you are washing it everyday and putting a lot of products in it the natural oils are all washed out. Try washing your hair every other day or just take a few days off every so often.
